Do you feel betrayed and disappointed when friends let you down? Are you expecting a reward all the time? Are you being calculative? It’s amazing how quickly even Christians blame God when things go wrong in our lives, even the question ‘Why me God’ points an accusing finger at our Father in heaven.
I like to win arguments. I like being right. I like showing people that I’m smart. I like using my knowledge and proving a point. It’s fun. I enjoy the rush it gives. And it may be one of the most destructive things I can do as a Christian.
The idea of “subjective truth” or “relative truth” or “it’s true for me, and that’s all that matters” is garbage.
It’s easy to confuse hard work with busyness, brainstorming with cunning, and taking initiative with pushing others out of the way – all actions not remotely associated with Christ’s work on earth – or in heaven!
